Sleep (or lack of it)

After letting Tabatha cry for over two and a half hours last night I bailed and picked her up and fed her. She went right back to sleep after that...maybe she is really just hungry? I don't know!
I think I am going to give the cry it out thing a rest for a little while so we can get a little more sleep. Feeding her twice in the night is much better than being up for three + hours while she cries.
I am not cut out for this!

I am open to ANY advice at this point....

Sleep Issues

It is 5am and I am trying to let Tabatha go back to sleep on her own. I decided to update the blog to keep my mind off her crying :( This is so tough! Letting her cry goes against every one of my mommy instincts, but I think she needs to do it to learn how to put herself back to sleep. I am exhausted getting up with her multiple times each night.

We have been having sleep issues off and on with Tabatha for awhile now, but especially since Christmas.  She is six months old and she has only really slept through the night twice. She won't take a pacifier which make things a little harder.  Before Christmas, she was regularly getting up once in the night to eat which was not a big deal.  During Christmas vacation we were in Minnesota and she did not sleep well at all; I chalked it up to traveling and being in a different setting. Since we have been home she has battled the flu and ear infections which has also thrown off her sleep. As a result, now she is in the habit of eating and being soothed by me several times a night. On top of this Ruby usually gets up in the night too; Mark deals with her but I still hear them. So, between my two girls, I am not getting enough sleep.

It is amazing how stress and anxiety increase when I am are tired. I am ready to feel rested again! I really hope this crying out strategy works quickly; I am not sure how long I can handle it!

December in Photos

Pictures from the last several weeks.....

Ruby loves to lay by Tabatha; Tabby's kicks and noises give Ruby the giggles :)

Mark and I dressed up for his work Christmas party.

My nephew Cole's baptism; we missed you Kyle and Annika!

Charlie eating Christmas goodies

Mark reading the Christmas story to Charlie before we opened our presents.

Charlie got food for his play kitchen. He loves to pretend to cook, get groceries and eat picnics.

Charlie and I often bake cookies together. I think he likes to make cookies because I let him eat cookie dough at the end.

Tabatha cashed out on the couch one evening.

First bite of peas...she was not a fan :)
