Lately, Ruby has been using her hands a lot more. Over the last couple of months we have been doing ABR exercises on her shoulders and shoulder blades. These parts of her body are starting to normalize and as a result her hands have been more open and she has been able to move her arms, hands, and fingers much more intentionally. For a long time her hands were pretty locked into a fist most of the time. Lately, she has been opening her fingers when she feels a toy, trying to put her hand on her bottle and opening her hands to touch the spoon when we are feeding her. This actually makes feeding more of a mess, but we are thrilled that she is trying to help us get food into her mouth!! She can even pull her pacifier out of her mouth (I can't wait until she can learn to put it back in, especially at 3am :)

She is getting her hands into her mouth all the time. She used to only be able to suck on her fist, but now she gets individual fingers in her mouth. This picture looks like she is just chewing on her whole fist, but I liked her pigtails so I want to post it anyways :)
She is much better at holding onto toys than she used to be.
Yesterday she was sitting in her chair, playing with a toy! She intentionally opened her fingers over and over again to touch this toy. It is such an improvement to see her recognize that she has a toy on her lap and then try to touch it, grab it and put it in her mouth. Go Ruby!!
Also-isn't her hair cute? I can't take the credit because Emily, Ruby's fantastic babysitter, did her hair. I think she looks grown up with these braids in.

GO RUBY! Isn't it incredible when they do something new?! And yes, her hair is adorable in all of the pictures! Poor Marissa is still stuck with your basic mowhawk because she constantly rubs the back and left side of her head. :(

I have been behind on my reading but I just read your blog and I am so happy with everything that Ruby is doing! Ruby you are awesome! Charlie is getting so big too. They are both so CUTE!
