Charlie

Charlie is my energetic, passionate, creative, emotional, music-loving son.  He is strong willed, intense and hilarious; he makes me laugh and he makes me incredibly tired, especially when I am trying to potty train him.  After 24 hours of running around after him in his underwear so he wouldn't pee on the furniture, I threw in the towel. My son may be going to kindergarten with diapers....oh well :)

I was feeling frustrated with him these last few days and then he reminded me about the big picture, as kids have a way of doing...

Tabatha is cutting a tooth and battling a cold so she was screaming pretty good in her car seat this afternoon.  I was feeling anxious, as most moms do when their baby is crying in the back of the car, when Charlie started to sweetly sing "Jesus Love Me" to Tabby. She stopped crying and just watched him while he sang to her.

Wow-- this melted my heart and reminded me God has incredible plans in store for Charlie and He chose me to be his Mom!  I pray God will give me the wisdom and strength to help Charlie become what God wants him to be and to not sweat the small stuff.

(To a few people who encouraged me today-Thanks for the advice! We all need to be affirmed in our role as parents once in awhile.)

How precious!! So great when those moments sneak up on us at just the right time. Potty training- seriously can be so rough! I swear next time I'm just gonna wait a LOT longer (I just hope she's not 4 or so...!)

Awwww bless his heart!! Yes, just wait longer. I am not teasing or joking when I say that when they are *truly* ready it is easier than eating a piece of pie to potty train. I tried a few times with Ellie after she turned 2 and I got sick of cleaning up messes. Eventually she was just ready and she told me she wanted to try wearing underwear again. She had one accident that morning and then NEVER ANOTHER ONE EVER AGAIN!! Seriously, that easy. So give yourself a break and just wait. He won't go to kindergarten in diapers, I promise. ;) BTW, Ellie was three months shy of her third birthday when she trained but it is different for all kids; don't sweat it. :)
