Emotional Night

Last night was our 8th grade banquet, which is like 8th grade graduation, but with a little more to it. We had a meal, worship with the 8th grade worship team, a slide show of pictures, awards and then the students received Bibles in honor of their graduation. It was a great night; I am always so proud of the students when I think how much they have grown this year. Then, as a surprise to me, the students gave me a binder full of letters they had written to me and a necklace that has "We'll Miss You- Class of 2008" engraved on the back. Wow- that was so meaningful and it was all I could do to hold it together in front of everyone. I did pretty well until I got into my car, and then the waterworks came. Mark just got home from MN and I greeted him with a lot of tears-- sorry Mark! Thankfully he was nothing but supportive.

Zeeland Christian has been an incredible blessing to me. The staff has been like a 2nd family and the kids are amazing. I have experienced God over and over in this place. I could not have asked for a better place to teach. I hope I am not done at this place, my role is just changing for awhile. To all my students who are reading this- you have impacted me in ways you will never know. You guys are great and I will miss you all!

It has been a tough transition for me to move out of teaching full time and to move into being a mom (hopefully soon). But, even amidst all the emotions, God continues to be faithful; He keeps moving and blessing Mark and I in ways we could never have imagined. I am trusting that He has amazing plans for our future.
