Happy Birthday Charlie!

Charlie is one year old today! It is hard to believe that he has been in our family for a whole year already! We had a fun celebration last night with family. Michael and Jessica (Mark's brother and sister in law) bought him a blue Elmo birthday cake that he thoroughly enjoyed :)

Here is what Charlie has been up to lately....

He is crawling all over the place. He used to only army crawl, but lately he has learned to crawl on all fours, although his army crawl is way faster so he prefers that. He also likes to pull himself up on everything and walk along things, even though accidents seems frequent :)

Charlie loves the dog's food. We are trying so hard to teach him not to eat it or play in the dog's water, but he can't stay away. I have scooped little kernels of Iams out of his mouth on more than one occasion. Tiger also loves Charlie's food. Whenever Charlie is in his high chair, Tiger is right beneath him, hoping he will drop food.

I think his favorite toy right now is his play laptop. He loves to bang on it like he is typing. He also likes to read books. Usually he is a busy little boy, but as soon as I pull a book out, he will sit calmly on my lap, at least for a little while.

Graham crackers are his food of choice. If I would let him, he would eat only graham crackers and milk all day long. He is not a big fan of vegetables, but he loves bananas, pears and macaroni and cheese.

One thing I particularly love is that Charlie is a great sleeper. Most nights he sleeps 12 or 13 hours. Since Ruby is not a good sleeper, we are so glad that Charlie is!

Charlie recently learned how to clap his hands and do "so big". I have been trying to teach him the baby sign for "more" for months, but he hasn't figured that one out yet:)
