Home Again

We just got home from Chicago a couple hours ago. Ruby did great; she was very happy and content, even through two long days of therapy.  The trainer encouraged us by saying he is confident this therapy will continue to "normalize" the structure of Ruby's body. There is a lot of work to be done (years of work) but we believe she will steadily get stronger. The trainer was pleased with the amount of hours we put in. He took a lot of new pictures of Ruby and hopefully we will get to see them in the next month or so and then we can compare them to pictures from our first ABR session; I am guessing the changes will be more obvious when we look at the pictures side by side.  We were assigned 5 new exercises to do with Ruby for a total of 3 1/2 hours every day. We are going to do our best, but I think if we can get 2 1/2 or 3 hours in a day we are doing pretty good.

We had a great time with Mark's cousin's family. They live in Chicago and they graciously hosted us at their house.  Thanks for letting us stay at your place Kurt and Lori! We really appreciated it; the food and conversation was great and Ruby was spoiled by your girls :) Thanks!

I have pictures to share, but I am ready for bed right now. I will get them downloaded soon.

All in all, it was a good trip and we are confident that ABR is the right therapy for Ruby.  I know we have a lot of work ahead of us, but I am completely willing to work, as long as we know it is effective for Ruby.  Now, we will have to work on finding the balance between teaching, doing therapy, playing with my kids, spending time with my hubby...etc. This will be tricky, but I know it can be done.

Thanks for your prayers!

I'm glad that Chicago was helpful and that you got new therapy exercises for Ruby. I can guess that scheduling everything will be a struggle and I'll pray for you guys as you figure out how to balance everything out.

Glad to hear you are home again. Kelli, thanks for the call today and I am so glad your first day at school went well. I will be anxious to hear how the babes did at day care. Praying for you all, Mom
