It has been a bit of a rough couple of weeks. We have all had cold/sinus infections and Ruby has not been sleeping good at all. When she can't breathe through her nose at night and suck on her pacifier like she normally can then she is a bear to deal with. When she is worked up it is very hard to calm her down. The combination of sickness and lack of sleep (and pregnancy) has left Mark and I exhausted and our house a mess. Both of the kids have been crabbier than usual and I think it is because they don't feel well. I really hope all this will pass soon. Please pray for better sleep! We are heading to Chicago for more ABR training this weekend so hopefully Ruby will be content through all the therapy.
On a more positive note...
-The frame of Ruby's wheelchair came in and she was fitted for the seat on Monday. We go back this coming Monday and if it all fits her well then we get to take it home. I am ready to start using the chair so Ruby can be up by us without having to hold her. I also love the fuscia frame we picked out. Hopefully she is content in her new chair.
-Ruby continues to drink out of the sippy cup. She fights it sometimes and it has not replaced the bottle yet, but she is making progress with it and I think it is only a matter of time before she makes the transition from bottle to cup.
-Charlie is talking and singing like crazy. He is so much fun to be around and every night Mark and I laugh about something he said or did. Lately he loves to play hide and seek with Mark, although he doesn't really understand the game. When Mark counts so he can go hide, he runs into the other room and then jumps out and says, "Ta-Da!" before Mark can even start looking for him. It is such a blessing to watch him grow and learn.
-We are 19 weeks pregnant and we have our ultrasound this Friday so hopefully we will find out the gender of our baby! I am very excited to see the little guy/girl on the screen! We are praying for a healthy looking baby on Friday!
Thanks for your continued prayers for Ruby and our family as new challenges and joys continue to arise. You all are a blessing to us and I don't know what we would do without a great support system like you all!

I am praying for rest for all of you! Don't worry about the house. I will be there in 10 days and would love to do some cleaning for you! We are so excited to come and spend some time together and I am sure that Mark and dad will have a great time at the Big 10 Tourney! See you soon,
Love, Mom
Hello There...My name is Deanna and We live in Indiana and have a special needs son. How precious is your little Ruby and Congats on your upcoming daughter. I was reading about Ruby and the sippy cup. We struggled with this and our therapist recomended using a sippy style cup with a soft straw. Since he has a strong suck from the bottle. As long as she can handle the flow then this may be easier. He just enjoyed his first danimal with a straw this week. We keep flexi straws in the diaper bag now and keep small scissors to cut them so the length is always only what is necessary.
