A Few Random Things and Part of Day 7 in Ethiopia

I know, I know, it's been awhile again-- sorry about that. It is amazing how much time a 5 month old can take up! We are loving it, it just means that I haven't been as "blog happy" as I was a couple of months ago :)

Day 7 in Ethiopia- On Wednesday we were able to go to the Bethany transitional home and the orphange where Ruby lived for 4 months. The transitional house is where the children who have been referred to Bethany families stay until their adoptive parents can come. Ruby was only here for 1 night because the house was new for Bethany and then she got sick again and was put back in the hospital. While we were here we got the pleasure of meeting 4 beautiful baby boys that we referred to Bethany families. Please pray for these families because since we have been there two of the boys have gone to heaven and the two other boys are still sick, but doing better. This has been a heartbreaking situation for these families. It is so sad to see babies dying of things like diarrhea because of the lack of health care and resources they have in Ethiopia. We are praying for these families and thanking God that He allowed us to bring Ruby home when He did. I don't know if she could have survived another round of sickness. That is a very sobering thought. Again, please keep these families and Bethany in your prayers during this tough time. Here is a link to my friend Holly's blog-- she just posted some more specifics about this situation if you want to check it out.
Here are some pictures of the transitional home. I purposely left out any pictures of the other children, in respect to those families. The crib you see is where Ruby was for 1 night before she went back to the hospital.

On another day I will post about our trip to the orphanage where Ruby was.

A few random pictures from the last couple weeks. Mainly, I wanted to post pictures from when Mark's parents were here. We had a great time with them; they were very excited to meet Ruby and that was fun. We went to Crane's apple orchard one day with them; you will see that in the pictures.

My niece Arabella loving on Ruby-

Celebrating my brother, Kyle's birthday. This is him with his girlfriend Annika; we all went to Pizza Ranch, a favorite family spot.

Very fun pictures, Kelli. I'm glad you were able to get Ruby out to do some fun fall things.

It's great to see some more pictures of Ruby and hear more about your time in ET. Is Ruby still wearing the braces on her wrists/hands? How is all that going? Her cheeks and lips are just oh so precious!
