Strength

I am tired. Three hours of ABR therapy every day is a lot of work! It is hard to get it in when Charlie needs my attention or when I have to get dinner in the oven, do a few dishes, throw the kids in the bath...etc. By the end of the day, I am pretty exhausted. Even though Mark and I are both tired, we are also very hopeful because with only a week and a half of ABR we are already seeing some small improvements. I don't want to get too excited yet, but there is reason to believe this therapy will really help Ruby out.

We are also in the middle of starting Ruby on something called neurofeedback. Basically it is a way to train her brain to regulate her brain's electrical frequencies; this should help calm the seizures down and give her better sleep and more cognitive awareness. In a few weeks I will be able to do this with her at home, but right now we are going to Neurocore in Grandville a few times a week to get started.

So, we are excited, hopeful and tired, yet, God is good and He sustains us daily. We are thankful He has led us to these new therapies and we continue to bless Him for His faithfulness and strength.

Is 40:28-31

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Have to say I love your pics of Charlie getting his first ice cream! They are priceless!

Wow, 3 hours a day IS a lot of work, but I am so excited for you guys that you are even seeing small improvements already. Praying for continued strength for you guys and lots of little miracles for Ruby!

Wow! Keeping up with all those hours! So great. Really, though, all those small improvements will really take you place. But remember. . . it's OK to take breaks, it's marathon, not a sprint.

Can't wait to hear about neurofeedback--seen some videos on it and it looks SO cool.
