Our Week in Photos

I'm so sorry it has been so long since I last posted! Our lives are a little different since Charlie was born; I feel like I don't have a spare moment without a baby on my lap until 11:00 pm and by that time I am too exhausted to post anything. Overall the first week with Mark back at work went fairly well. I did need to call him home one time and my parents have been a big help. Charlie has been a very easy baby and I am so thankful for that. He sleeps a lot and when he isn't sleeping or eating he is very content to sit in his cradle and look around. His temperature has stayed fairly stable, although Friday at the doctor's it was a little low again. I have been keeping him wrapped in three blankets at all times. I also have him in two hats, a long sleeve onesie, a warm sleeper, and a warming pack on him most of the time. With all of this we have been able to keep his temperature up. We are hoping that as he puts on a few pounds he will be able to regulate this better on his own.

Ruby, on the other hand, has had a fairly rough week. Ever since we changed the diet a few times she has been very uncomfortable and agitated. She has thrown up a lot and just wants to be held all the time. Because of this her development has really been put on hold. We went back to the original diet this past Wednesday and Friday we increased one of her seizure medications. I have been very frustrated because I don't know what to do to help her. Thankfully, the past day has been a little better. She hasn't thrown up in the past 36 hours and we saw several smiles again today! We are hoping that maybe she turned a corner and will be back to herself soon. Unfortunately we have seen no change in the seizures; in fact, yesterday she had the most seizures she has ever had. This is disappointing, but if she is content and comfortable that goes a long ways.

So, we are starting the second week being home from the hospital as a family of four. Each day we figure things out a little more. Here are several pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Those pictures of your kids together are so precious! Poor Ruby, I hope that her little body tolerates the change of diet better and she can get in a good groove with her health. And lucky Charlie, he gets to be all warm and toasty. :)
