Reality

Reality hits today. Mark went back to work, my mom and dad are back at work, my mother in law flew home and we left the nurses at the hospital. I am by myself with two babies! So far things have gone well this morning. They are both sleeping and I even got to shower and eat breakfast! :) I am a little nervous about how this will all go, but I am excited to try and I am so glad we are all home so this new phase of our lives can start. I will let you know how it goes! I need to post some new pictures soon too.

I haven't mentioned much about Ruby lately so here is a little update. We have changed the ratio of fat to carbs in her diet twice in the last two weeks, but she still seems to be fairly miserable. Her stomach is upset which causes diarrhea and vomiting. She also seems more agitated and her seizure count hasn't changed much. So, we are going back to the first version of the diet today. This seemed to agree with her system the most and although she was still having seizures, she was at least awake, active and content. I feel bad changing things on her all the time, but we are hoping we see her go back to being smiley and content like she was a few weeks ago. Hopefully that shows up within a couple of days. We will keep you posted.

Hey Kelli! Thanks for your update. I remember when Dustin went back to work, it was really hard emotionally! And I only had one baby. I'm sure it's overwhelming but God has equipped you with amazing mother instincts and He knows you WILL do a great job! I wish I could see you guys!

Mom and Dad are back at work but EXTREMELY flexible when it comes to the two beautiful TenHaken kids. (And I'm not talking about Mark)
We are so proud of you guys as parents!

Hey, reality can be scary sometimes, but in no time it'll be old hat to you. Hang in there! I pray that you are able to see some positive changes in Ruby soon. :) Looking forward to pictures.

It's amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it, or even when you don't think you can manage, you DO. When my babies were little the day just STRETCHED before me. I very plainly remember those mornings at 8am, when Troy left and I just wondered how in the world I'd make it all day alone. I pray that Ruby's diet is gentler on her tummy and that she can be happy and content, which will help you a lot...

Awesome that you are all home, but I know how overwhelming this can be "on your own". Let me know if I can ever do anything for you- run out and get diapers, etc. from the store, or come over so you can take a nap (Ben might tear your house apart, but I'd try to prevent it!).
