Weekend Report

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Here is a little run down of our weekend--- My parents babysat on Friday night so Mark and I were able to go out on a date; I forgot how much fun it is to be out together with no kids! It was great to spend some quality time together. Saturday night we watched the NFL playoffs with some friends. I don't care at all about football, but my husband does so it is a great excuse to hang out with people :) Sunday, Charlie and Mark were both a little under the weather so after eating with my family, we lounged around at home for the rest of the afternoon/evening. I did get out to go to a worship service at church though, which was so refreshing. Charlie still has some kind of bug so he is clingy and cuddly today again; I love the cuddling, but I hope it passes soon.

I want to report that Ruby is doing better than ever! Currently, she is not on any anti-seizure meds, but because of the holistic protocol she is on, her seizures continue to diminish! I don't think I have seen a seizure at all yet today! Her sleep and eye contact have improved, along with some of her constipation issues (sorry if that is too much information :). She is content and happy and she was even lifting her head off the couch yesterday! I know this doesn't sound like much, but she has never been able to lift her head off of anything. These are all steps in the right direction. We are cautiously hopeful that as we continue to add supplements and work on different things from her tests (genetic, urine toxic metals and urine essential elements tests) that she will keep improving. It is so encouraging to finally be seeing some progress and to be off seizure meds that all came with nasty side effects. Praise God!

If any of you are interested in reading about the holistic protocol we are on, you can click here. This protocol was started by Dr. Amy Yasko and it is often used on autistic kids. I have read several stories where autistic children have recovered because of Dr. Amy's work! Ruby isn't autistic, but the program to reduce neurological inflammation and balance important elements in our bodies has been very helpful for her so far. We are just getting into the heart of this program; hopefully we continue to see positive things.

Oh wow Kelli, you're making me weepy reading about the progress Ruby is experiencing.. and to not have to have all those drugs in her system... what a blessing. I hope Charlie is feeling better soon. Glad you guys got out on a date; this coming weekend it'll be mine and Ben's turn and we can't wait. It's been way too long! ;)

I want to say WOW too, I am so excited that something is working that doesn't make her unlike her happy self. So so so glad to hear it.
