Wow God!

It's been almost two days now since we got our referral and I still can't hardly believe it is true. I slept really good the first night; I think I was exhausted from being so excited all day. Last night was a different story. I kept thinking about Ruby; I woke up at 5 am thinking about what crib we were going to get! I am just so excited I don't even know what to do with myself right now.

I don't know a lot about when things are going to happen next. I do know that our referral acceptance papers will go to Bethany headquarters in Grand Rapids tomorrow. From there they should be shipped to Ethiopia and then we will eventually be assigned a court date. I think our court date could be anywhere from 1-2 months from now. The courts close in parts of August and September so we are praying hard that our paperwork gets in the courts before they shut down. That will allow us to travel a lot earlier. A few other Bethany families have also accepted referrals recently so we are hoping that some of us could travel together to get our children.

It is all so exciting and maybe just a little overwhelming. God is good and He has been so faithful. We will keep trusting in Him through the court process. Please pray that Ruby's papers will get through the court on the first try so we can bring her home soon!

We'll keep you posted!! Thanks again for everyone's support.

I am praying that we get to travel together too. It would be great to pick up Ruby, Levi, and "Blessing" together. I completely understand about not quite believing this is true. Also, the first night I slept maybe 4 hours at the most. Last night I slept for 11 to make up for it, so we did the opposite. :D I was so excited when your received your referral for Ruby, and then after I found that out, I got my call at 7:50 that night. God IS so good. He is rejoicing with us.

Congrats guys! We are so excited for you, and can't wait to welcome her home and into our family. When we received the news that Erika had been matched with our family, I couldn't sleep a wink, while your Uncle Jeff slept like he hadn't a care in the world. Fortunately we only had to wait a day to meet her the first time (typical for a domestic adoption). Once I'd laid eyes on her and held her, I was at complete peace, and slept like a rock that night. But guess what: reality came crashing in on Jeff, and that night HE couldn't sleep!
