Update

It looks like we won't be finding out a travel date for about another week or so. We heard today that Ruby is a little under the weather so she couldn't go to get her passport like was planned. We have heard that she is not sick with anything serious, but I have to admit that I am having a hard time knowing she is sick and I can't be there to help her. As soon as she gets her passport then she has to have a medical exam scheduled before we can get an embassy date (this is routine). This could all happen in the next week or so, but because of all that has to happen it seems like we won't know about travel until at least next week. When we do hear about our embassy date we may have to be in Ethiopia anywhere from 5-14 days later.

A frustrating thing happened with our paperwork today. I called the National Visa Center to make sure they had sent a certain form to Ethiopia and they had no record of this form. This is something they should have received last Oct. So, our social worker is requesting that US immigration quickly send the form to the National Visa Center so it can get to Ethiopia ASAP. The embassy needs this form before they will give us an appointment and travel date. It is frustrating when the US gov't is holding us up because of a mistake they made. It sounds like this can all be fixed within a day or two so hopefully it will all be fine.

With the paperwork mess up and the news of Ruby being sick, I have been a little emotional and anxious today. God continues to remind me that He is in control of all of this; He has led us this far, I know that He will see us through the whole way. Thanks again for your prayers. I needed them today :)

I so remember things like this Kelli. It's these times when it seems like God says, "Do you really trust me Kelli?" I would say, "Yes but do you really need to make it this hard????????" I hurt for and feel for you guys. We'll be stormin' the gates for you.

Hang in there you guys!!

Oh, I'm sorry you're running into bumps and I pray that Ruby bounces back to her healthy self quickly and that your paperwork flies through the proper channels.

I am finally getting to some blogs and reading back a bit. The SAME thing happened with us regarding the National Visa Center. I think it was a certain 37 cable, or something like that they needed (I have blocked the whole thing out pretty well). It all worked out for us, too, but we had lots of frustrating calls, too, and just had to mention it.
