I showed up at school today ready for a full day of teaching. When I got there the lights were turned down, the hallways were quiet and my principal was in jeans. I then realized we didn't have school today! Apparently there was a tornado watch this morning which means we don't have school. ESPN was on at our house before I left, not the news, so I had no idea there was bad weather.
What a gift! I already had the kids with babysitters so I have a full day to do whatever I want! This morning I worked ahead on some concert planning for school. Now I am eating at Panera Bread, blogging and updating some pictures on my computer. I think I will shop and run a few errands this afternoon and then maybe I can even clean out the kids' closet.
Today I am very thankful for a surprise day off.
