Almost Spring Break

This week has been much more relaxed than the past couple of weeks. The play is done; I spent a few extra hours packing away costumes and props, but almost everything is cleaned up now. Mark and I have enjoyed dinner together two nights in a row! I even made steaks today! I put them on the grill even though it was windy and cold; I have no idea how else to cook steak :)

Tonight we had to bring something back to Sears so we did a little shopping in Grandville. It has been so nice just to have time to walk through the mall together and chat about the future. I haven't thought a crazy lot about adoption this last month because of the busyness, but I have to admit that I have been fairly consumed with adoption thoughts this week :) I have decided that one thing I can buy before we get our referral is a baby carrier; so I am trying to decide between a BabyHawk or an Ergo. I have read and heard that baby carriers are very nice for adopted kids because they can stay close to you for attachment purposes, but you can also get some stuff done around the house. It will also be good in Ethiopia and in the airport. If anyone has any opinions, feel free to fill me in because I have never done this before.

We are headed to LA for spring break on Thursday night. My cousin, who was also my roommate all through college, and her husband, who was Mark's roomate, had their first baby in January. I was itching to see him so we decided to fly out for 4 days over spring break. It's a bonus that it is beautiful weather there; we are really looking forward to it.

Have a great Wednesday!

I'll "de-lurk" to offer some baby carrier advice!

I like slings. Over the Shoulder Baby Holder (that's a real company) and Mayan wraps.

They are both adjustable, and feel completely foreign at first. But if you give it 3 days... it will feel like an extension of your own body. You'll feel just like a mama kangaroo!

They are comfortable, easy, not crazy expensive, keep the babies close, you can use them forever (I still occasionally carry my 5 yr old around in his) and are easy on your back. A folded up Mayan Wrap can fit in your purse.

Just my 2 cents worth!

Enjoy your spring break!!!
