The Weekend

We are very thankful for a fairly good weekend with Ruby. Unfortunately she caught some sort of bug because she threw up a couple of times on Saturday, but after several loads of laundry and three baths, today she seems much better. Even though she was sick, we are praising God that we haven't seen any full seizures since Tuesday!! We are still seeing some fragment seizures, which just means she does a weird face now and then or her eyes will look funny for a minute, but nothing like we saw a week ago. Also, we saw real smiles this weekend and Ruby seems to be more alert and awake. We are really hoping we are starting to see glimpses of her personality now that she is used to the meds. She is still on the highest dose of two of the meds to get rid of all the fragments, but we are very encouraged that we are seeing some developmental progress.

It was a nice, relaxed weekend with the three of us. Mark is a fantastic husband and he took care of Ruby Friday and Saturday night so I got two solid nights of sleep. That felt so great! We are feeling more at peace about everything; Ruby is definitely not "cured" or out of the woods, but she is relaxed, happy and making small steps in the right direction, so we are thankful.
