We are home! Ruby was discharged last night and we were home as a family again around 8pm. This morning Ruby seems so much more content. Although we have had a fair amount of seizures already today, she is very smiley and obviously much more comfortable then she has been so that is a blessing. The doctors don't know exactly why she was in so much pain. They think she either passed a kidney stone that they couldn't find on the ultrasound, or the diet she was on was making her incredibly uncomfortable. Either way, we are glad to be off the diet. Now, I don't have to test her blood sugar or urine or measure out everything for her diet. She is eating so much better too and I can feed her baby food again! We are looking forward to all of that being easier. As far as the seizures go, we will keep trying to fight them with meds and we are meeting with a pediatric neurosurgeon at Children's Hospital in Detroit next week Friday to see if Ruby would be a good candidate for surgery. Other than that, we will keep loving on her and continue with her therapy in hope that she makes some developmental gains.
Charlie is doing great; his temp seems stable and he is still a very easy baby so that is another blessing. Thanks for your prayers. We are hoping for a long stretch here with no hospital stays!!

Glad you guys are home again, I have been thinking about you guys a lot!
Praying for her continued strength. Children's Hospital is a great hospital and I pray that they can help give some more direction on what's hurting her. And may you continue to grow in strength for your son as well.
God Bless
Robbin
So glad to hear that you are all home again. Praying you can stay home for a good stretch now. Praying for your appt. with the pediatric neurosurgeon next Friday.
Yay, I feel like sending you a celebratory cake or something! At least it seems she's comfortable and both your kiddos are happy and content for now. Ruby is blessed to have you both as her parents making all these tough decisions and doing what you think is best for your little girl. Hugs!
