Ruby has another EEG tomorrow. She still hasn't had any seizures that I have seen, so I am anticipating that this one will be clear of seizure activity also. If that is the case we can start to wean her steroids! This will be a 4-6 week process, but I am very excited to start giving her lower doses because she has been a bear this week. The steroids are making her super crabby and she only has been sleeping around 4-5 hours a night. Thankfully I have a great husband who has been sharing the night shift with me. I have been spending most of my time during the day this week trying to console her, so hence the lack of blogging :) We are tired and very sick of Ruby being like this, but it is far better then her having seizures everyday; crabbiness is a small price to pay if she is going to stay seizure free.
Tomorrow, Charlie also has an appointment in Grand Rapids with his surgeon. His incision has had a little infection in it the last few weeks. The surgeon drained it last week and he has been on an antibiotic for a week, but the infection has not cleared up. The surgeon thinks one of his stiches hasn't properly dissolved so they might have to do a procedure in the office to get it out. Hopefully after that his incision will be able to heal properly.
I haven't posted birthday pictures yet because the ones on my camera didn't turn out. I think my mom got a few good ones so I will try to get them from her soon.
Praise God with us for continued seizure freedom for Ruby! We are praying the EEG is completely clear and that the wean goes very smoothly, with no set backs. We also pray Charlie's infection clears up soon.

Praying for another clear EEG so you can start to wean Ruby and praying that there are not complications or a recurrence of seizures.
Praying it is clear and that Ruby can start to wean off the meds.
Praying that todays EEG is clear and that you are weaning Ruby off the meds asap!
Praying also for healing in Charlie's incision! And for a happier Ruby :)
Hugs to you all!
