Please Pray

The past weekend, my cousin and his wife lost their first child at 40 weeks. She was a few days past their due date when she didn't feel much movement. When they went in to check this out the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat. They induced her so she could deliver their firstborn son-- Zachary Michael De Yager. They had a precious time together holding him and praying together before they had to say goodbye to their beautiful baby. The umbilical cord was really long and the doctor thinks it got a kink in it that cut off nutrients to the baby.

My heart is breaking for my cousins and aunt and uncle as they are going through this. Especially, having just recently delivered our first son, I cannot imagine the pain they are experiencing right now. If you could join me in lifting them up in prayer this week I would really appreciate it. Already they said they have felt strength from God these past couple of days; the prayers of God's people are powerful.

If you want to check out their story, their blog is http://zacharymichaeldeyager.blogspot.com/

Oh God, when we cannot understand why, then all we can ask is that we can trust You and know that You are in control of all things. We know that Zachary is with You and we will meet him some day when death is no longer. Amen.

Oh, how difficult.... :( I will pray for them Kelli... I can't imagine the grief.. the excited expectancy and then just shock and sorrow.. praying as they navigate through these next days, weeks, and months.

I am so sorry for their loss and for yours! Our family experience a similar event when my nephew passed away 3 minutes after birth. Praying for all involved!!!

Unfortunately, infant loss is something that is close to my heart. I will be praying for them as they grieve for Zachary over the next days, weeks and months. Losing a baby is an extremely overwhelming, sad, frustrating thing to deal with and my heart goes out to them today.
