What a beautiful weekend in West Michigan! We enjoyed being outside a lot this weekend as it was sunny an in the 70s. Friday night our good friends from college, Scott and Nicole made a pit stop at our house on their way up north; we had a great time catching up with them. Saturday, Mark's parents came from MN for the rest of the weekend. They helped us plant our garden Saturday afternoon and then Mark and his dad were able to enjoy a round of golf before we ordered pizza. Sunday after church we grilled and then they watched the kids while I took a nap! Sunday night we walked around at Holland State Park and got ice cream and then Monday we enjoyed the Holland Memorial Day parade. It was good to see them again and we really appreciated their help. Ruby has still been sleeping horribly at night, so Mark's mom took part of the night shift for us so we could get a few more hours of sleep. Thanks Mom!
Ruby is still seizure free-- tomorrow it will be 4 weeks without seizures! We are very ready to be done with the steroids because they are making Ruby pretty miserable. She wants to eat all the time, she continues to gain weight and she is incredibly cranky.I think she doesn't feel good at all on these meds. She still only sleeps about 4 hours a night; I am not sure how she functions with that little of sleep. I keep telling myself that this is only temporary. We have to wean for a little more than 3 weeks yet and hopefully after that the seizures stay away and our happy little girl comes back. We did bloodwork again today to check for any infections and we will do another EEG next week Monday. We are hopeful that all will continue to look good.
Charlie is a champ. He keeps gaining weight (12 lbs!) and he is sleeping 10+ hours a night! He smiles a lot and he loves to look at his toys. He is a very active content little guy and I am very thankful because I am not sure what I would do if I had two crabby babies :)
