EEG Results

Ruby's EEG showed no signs of her spasms!!! She usually has a seizure pattern on her EEG, even if she didn't have a seizure during the EEG and this time it was no where to be found! We are very excited about this. She did have a few little muscle jerks (called myclonic jerks) when she was falling asleep, but the doctors are not to worried about these; they don't cause severe developmental problems like the spasms do. She also has some weird activity on the left side of her brain that show the doctors she may be at risk for having seizures in the future, but this is something we are already very aware of. For now, we are rejoicing in the fact that the spasms are gone on the EEG!! Our neuro is being very cautious with the ACTH injections and he decided to keep Ruby on one more week of the full dose before we start the wean. I wish we could wean now, but I would much rather be careful and make sure the seizures don't come back. So, overall, this is the news we have been waiting for 8 months to hear!! Thank God with us that the seizures are gone right now and please pray they never come back!
