An Answer!
DeVos Children's Hospital is a great place to be when your kids are sick. We got here and within the first hour they did another ultrasound of Charlie's stomach. They found a muscle that is thickening in Charlie's stomach so food is not passing through like it should. This is called pyloric stenosis. Charlie will have a small surgery today or tomorrow to fix this and then he should be able to eat normally!! I am so relieved that they found something that is fixable. They tested him for this in Holland also, but last week they didn't see it on the ultrasound. The doctors said it can get worse over time so last week it probably wasn't bad, but now it has changed and needs to be dealt with. Praise God for an answer; hopefully Charlie will be chowing down and putting on the pounds soon.

Praise God for answers! I'm so glad you were able to figure things out after dealing with the stress of changing hospitals with Charlie. We'll be waiting to hear how surgery goes.
You don't know me, but my boss(Stan Konynenbelt) goes to your church and has been watching your blog. My son also had pyloric stenosis surgery about 5 months ago, he was not quite 3 weeks old. He is doing wonderful now, you never would have known anything was wrong. Yes, you and your son are in the BEST hands over there at DeVos. Good luck and prayers are with little Charlie!

I had the same surgery done as a child and have been fine since. Well, at least with my stomach. :) Hopefully, the same will be true for Charlie. I am glad that his surgery went well and that he is already gaining weight. I am looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow Love, Erika
