Day 4

What a blessing it is to have friends and family around. Today I have had company off and on most of the day and that really helps the time in the hospital go faster. Charlie is doing a little better it seems. His color is good and he still is off his oxygen. He even gave me his first real smile last night!! I was pretty excited about that. He did drop a little in weight today because he keeps throwing up. This is very frustrating for me because he seems hungry, but then when I feed him he can't keep anything down. The doctor seems to think this is still because his whole system doesn't feel well from the RSV and the infection. She thinks that in a few days when he has received more antibiotics that things will calm down and he will start gaining weight. I sure hope so! He doesn't have any extra weight to lose. He will be 8 weeks old tomorrow and he weighs 7.8 lbs-- pretty small. Hopefully he will start packing on the pounds soon. He did keep his last feeding down, so that is a start.

I really wanted to upload some pictures to post while I was sitting here, but somehow from the house to the hospital, I lost my camera cord. When I find it, or buy a new one, then I will try to post some recent pictures.

We went through this very same scenario this week. RSV, reflux, etc. We found out switching to a soy formula helped with the mucous tremendously.
