Once again, we visited the doctor this morning for Charlie's check up after surgery and for the first time in awhile, we got a good report! Charlie gained weight (he is up to 8lbs 7oz) and Ruby does not have RSV! She was sounding congested the last couple of days so I was worried she was getting sick from Charlie. Thankfully she just has a little cold and we can still do the steroid treatments we were planning on starting this weekend. Ruby will be admitted to DeVos children's hospital on Friday so they can monitor her to see how she reacts to the ACTH steroid injections. If all goes well, then we can give the shots to her at home. We are hoping this gets rid of her spasms completely. We know the steroids won't affect the tonic seizures she is having, but if we can at least stop one kind of seizure it will be a step in the right direction. Please pray that this is the case; after this we won't have many other options of things to try to stop her spasms.
On a completely different note, my husband took me out to eat tonight for my 27th birthday. We went to On The Border in Grandville and it was delicious. It was very nice to have a few hours without the kids (thanks Chad and Beth for watching them!). We even spent some of the time talking about things other than Ruby and Charlie. Thanks Mark for a great night!
