Day 3

We have had a fairly good day at the hospital. Charlie has not needed oxygen since early this morning and he did gain a little weight so far. Unfortunately, he is only keeping his bottle down when I feed him a 1/2 ounce to an ounce at a time. This means I have to feed him often. Hopefully, as he recovers from the RSV, he will be able to keep more and more down at one time. He is still on IV fluids so he is staying hydrated and getting some sugar from this. The doctor told us last night that the IV antibiotics for the unrinary tract infection need to run a 10 day course. This means that we may have to be in the hospital for 8 more days. We are hoping that if Charlie can keep his food down that the doctor will let us give Charlie the last couple of doses orally, at home.

Ruby has been well taken care of by my parents and now Mark's mom is here from MN to take care of her for a few days. We are starting her on her new meds tonight and hopefully we will also get started on steroid shots next week. I miss her, but I am thankful she is in good hands.

We are tired, but holding up. Thanks for your prayers.
