I wanted to clarify by saying that Ruby doesn't have any symptoms of the CMV, so she isn't sick right now. Many people test positive for this virus but it may never effect them. Some people may get cold like symptoms. The only reason this virus is a problem is that when Ruby's immune system is compromised on the ACTH then the virus could give her much worse symptoms. It is also possible that her birth mom had this and passed it on the Ruby during the pregnancy. This may explain the brain scarring that Ruby has.
We didn't go to the infectious disease doctor today; our neurologist didn't think it was necessary. The doctor's are still talking to see if we should continue the ACTH. Please pray for guidance as we are not sure what to do or what they will recommend.

Praying Kelli! If it was contracted congenitally, it could definitely be at the crux of all of Ruby's struggles so far... We researched it heavily when we accepted Ellie's referral... she was a special needs waiting child because they didn't know if the CMV was congenital or acquired after birth... just a few weeks after we accepted the referral her birth mom was tested and they could determine that the birthmom's antibodies had been there a long time so it was not congenital. Praying for you guys!
My thoughts and prayers are with you asking God to give you strength, a peace that passes understanding, and all that you need for each new day. Also for precious little Ruby.
